Arrested Development: 10 Insane Details You Definitely Missed

8. Tobias’ Book On Amazon Has Some Interesting Suggestions

Arrested Development Blue
20th Television & Netflix

When Tobias is first introduced on the show, he's described as a psychoanalyst and therapist who claimed to be the first "Analrapist." He lost his license to practice medicine due to some damaging CPR he performed, but before that happened, he wrote a book called "The Man Inside Me."

This was another indication that Tobias is a homosexual, which is an ongoing joke in the series. Still, there's more to the book than most viewers noticed. The cover of the book shows a line-illustration of a man (who is clearly Tobias) standing in front of a dark silhouette of a man behind them, and both appear naked.

When the book's Amazon.com page shows up on the screen, a few more details are revealed, indicating Tobias' real interests. In the "Customers who bought 'The Man Inside Me; also bought:" section, the book suggestions include the following:

Families with Low Self-Esteem by Dr. Tobias Fünke (Author)

Caged Wisdom: Musings from Prison by George Bluth (Author)

Girls with Low Self-Esteem (VHS)

The Low-Carb Gay, Bi, and Transgender Diet by B. J. Zuckerkorn (Author)

That last book is written by B.J. Zuckerkorn, the pen name of Barry Zuckerkorn, the family's attorney. There's some obvious innuendo concerning the title as it might relate to Tobias, and it's a fun Easter Egg for the more eagle-eyed viewers to enjoy.
