And finally, the season ends on an incredibly bizarre note as George Sr. springs Buster from the parade float "jail" and the pair flee in Sally Sitwells (Christine Taylor) stair car...as presented in the style of a classic silent film.

From the use of intertitles - even for Ron Howard's customary "He wasn't" - to the old-timey music, jerky camera movement and melodramatic acting, it's an extremely peculiar way to close things out, even if it gets a few points for its sheer go-for-broke insanity.

Was it too WTF for its own sake or a welcome flash of randomness? Fans are likely to be divided, but either way, you probably won't forget it anytime soon.
