Arrow: 10 Biggest Questions We Have For Season 8

8. Will Laurel Return As The Black Canary?

One of the show's more compelling long-running narrative threads was undoubtedly the redemption of Earth-2's Laurel Lance a.k.a. Black Siren who, over the last two seasons, slowly progressed from murderous villain to fully-fledged hero.

It wasn't an easy journey for the character, as she was often tempted to return to her villainous ways, but eventually she found her way to the light. In doing so, she returned home to Earth-2, where she would later become the hero known as the Black Canary - a tribute to her dearly departed Earth-1 doppelganger.

Laurel's departure initially had fans worrying that they'd seen the last of her, but those worries were soon quashed when she showed up in the Season 7 finale to assist Team Arrow in their battle against the Ninth Circle. That being said, this doesn't necessarily mean that she'll be a part of Season 8.

We know that she remains in this heroic role for over two decades because, as the flash-forwards of 'Lost Canary' revealed, she is still the Black Canary in 2040. The only question is: Will she remain on Earth-1 or does she return home again following the events of the finale?

With Emily Bett Rickards and possibly Colton Haynes once again leaving the show, Arrow needs to hold onto as many of its original cast members as possible for its final season so, it goes without saying that it could benefit from utilising its original leading lady Katie Cassidy Rodgers. Moreover, Oliver could definitely use someone like Black Canary in the upcoming Crisis.
