7. Have We Seen The Last of Felicity Smoak?
When Emily Bett Rickards announced that she would be leaving Arrow following the conclusion of its seventh season, her fans were in absolute shock, unable to comprehend the reality that Felicity Smoak would no longer be a part of the show. Naturally, her announcement also spawned intrigue, as we all wondered how her long-standing character would be written out.
We got our answer in the Season 7 finale when present-day Felicity's arc came to an end as she left Star City behind and gave birth to her (and Oliver's) daughter only to end up separated from her husband by The Monitor. However, her story would come full-circle in the flash-forwards, when she too met with The Monitor and ventured off into a portal from which there was no return - ready to be reunited with Oliver.
It goes without saying that she received two pretty definitive endings and, as a result, it has raised concerns among her fans that we have indeed seen the last of her. Few characters have ever received a send-off of this magnitude and, as her second departure takes place after the Crisis (which Season 8 is expected to be based on), it does seem unlikely that we'll see her again.
That being said, it is the show's final season, so there's still a possibility that we'll at least get a Felicity cameo in the series finale (should Rickards agree to return).
