2. A New Heir To The Demon
Access to the Lazarus Pit was listed by Ras as a perk of becoming his successor in the League; Oliver would need to pay a hefty price for its use. Whether Thea dies because of a last-ditch sales pitch from Ras to Oliver or Roy dies in the jailbreak or Diggle dies of frustration that Oliver and Felicity havent gotten together yet, the cost will remain the same: Oliver must displace Nyssa as Heir to the Demon. And does he ever! Apparently given the honeymoon suite of Nanda Parbat as well as a snazzy new wardrobe filled with black League of Assassins duds, Oliver somewhat epically proclaims his supremacy over Ras minions. I am Al Saheem, warith al Ghul, heir to the Demon, bellows Oliver, and you will obey! Less epic, however, is the apparent initiation into the League. The trailer closes on the image of a trembling Oliver closing off and biting down on his agony as he is branded with the mark of an arrow. His face is absolutely heartbreaking as he finally gives up on his last quiet dream for a semi-normal life. Honestly, its difficult not to hope that he at least gets to leave behind Oliver Queen with some semblance of dignity, perhaps going out with a bang rather than a whimper. Speaking of which...
