Arrow: 10 Important Moments From Season 2 So Far

6. Malcolm Merlyn

Not even an arrow through the heart can take down the Dark Archer. At the end of season 1, it was left ambiguous whether Oliver had killed Malcolm in their final confrontation, but, as season 2 rolled around, we heard from multiple sources that Malcolm had indeed died that night, so we assumed that was the end of it. Except that it wasn€™t. As Malcolm tells Moira when he confronts her after the trial, €œThere are parts of the world that death is an illusion. I've been to one, I learned to be very convincing." Let€™s be honest, this is a show based off a medium where people come back from the dead all the time, so it stands to reason that certain characters on the show are going to be harder to kill off. Malcolm admitted that had Moira acquitted using the resources he had left in Starling City, and then drops a bombshell informing Moira and the audience that Thea is his biological daughter. He also confirms in the next episode that he had also trained under Ra€™s al Ghul when he went to Nanda Parbat all those years ago. Malcolm demands Moira tell Thea about him, but she refuses and states she contacted Ra€™s Al Ghul and informed him that Malcolm is alive. It seems that Ra€™s is upset at Malcolm for plotting the Undertaking (which betrayed the League's code of honor) and plans to kill him personally, forcing Malcolm to go on the run. Being one of the most important villains in both this show and the comics, it's likely we€™ll see Malcolm again, but the question is whether it will involve the show€™s current main villains or something related to the League of Assassins. Hopefully, we'll see another rematch between him and Oliver.
