When Floyd Lawton, a.k.a. Deadshot, was introduced last season, we learned he had a personal connection with John Diggle. Diggles brother Andy was shot and killed by one of Deadshots curare laced bullets, and Diggle has since made it one of his primary goals to kill Deadshot to avenge his brother. Deadshot also had the opportunity to kill Diggle last season, but like his comic book counterpart he said he wouldnt because no one was paying him to do it. This season, Diggle, Oliver and Felicity headed to Russia to rescue Diggles ex-wife Lyla from a Russian gulag. Brought to the prison himself, Diggle is put in the same room as Deashot, and despite his hatred towards the cycloptic assassin, the two of them work together to escape the gulag and rescue Lyla. Once safe from the Russian authorities, Diggle makes good on his word and frees Deadshot in gratitude for helping rescue Lyla. As repayment, Deadshot informs him that he didnt kill Andy accidentally (as originally thought) but was hired to by an organization called H.I.V.E, a super-villain group frequently at odds with the Teen Titans in the comics. Ideally well learn more about H.I.V.E. and why they wanted Andy dead, but considering all of the villains weve already been introduced to in these last nine episodes, I hope theyre saved as the main antagonists for another season.
