Arrow: 10 Important Moments From Season 2 So Far

3. Shado Is Killed

I already went over most of the events of the island in earlier sections, so let€™s pick up where I left off: the submarine. Boarding the Japanese sub, Shado, Oliver, Sara find the serum for Slade. However, Sara informs them that without a sedative, Slade might not survive. Because he would die without it, they decide to give it to him anyway. Once injected, Slade starts convulsing and yelling in pain before his heart stops and blood starts leaking from his eyes. The group istands in stunned silence before Ivo and his men break in. Taking other samples of the serum, Ivo forces Shado, Oliver and Sara out of the submarine. Back on the island, Ivo pulls out a gun, telling Oliver that he has 30 seconds decide whether Shado or Sara lives. Oliver is unable to make a decision until the last second when he rushes in front of Sara. Ivo then shoots Shado in the head. Suddenly, Slade comes rushing from the trees totally not just dead, but serum-enhanced, killing all of the mercenaries, but Ivo manages to escape. Seeing Shado€™s body, he clutches her body asking what happened, but before Oliver can answer, Sara says that Ivo killed her for no reason, which is a half-truth at best. Slade states that whoever did this to her will suffer, and it's likely that her death is setting Slade up for his eventual fall from grace. There is the slim possibility that the serum pulls a Heroes-type move and gives Slade€™s blood new healing properties, but at this point it's safe to assume that Shado is indeed dead.
