Arrow: 10 Important Moments From Season 2 So Far

2. Slade Wilson Is The Mastermind Villain

It€™s such a short sequence, but it€™s the biggest reveal the show has ever given us. Coming back from his encounter with the Arrow, Brother Blood walks into a huge office to speak with a man, who he informs that the Hood destroyed the centrifuge with the serum, to which the man says he€™ll give him a sample of his blood to reproduce the serum, but tells Blood that he better not confront the Hood again or he is out of here. The camera soon reveals an older Slade Wilson with graying hair and an eyepatch, now looking more like Deathstroke from the comics. Statng that he knows who the vigilante really is, Slade narrates how he will defeat Oliver psychologically and make sure he loses everything before driving an arrow into his eye. A bit personal, don€™t you think, Slade? For non-comic book readers, it€™s understandable that you would have been surprised to see Slade as a villain, but fans of the source material were expecting it to happen, just not this soon. In the show€™s first episode, we saw the trademark Deathstroke mask on the wooden stub with an arrow through the eye, and when Oliver met Slade Wilson for the first time, we knew that at some point in the show's run he and Slade would fall into conflict. We€™ll eventually learn the source of the bad blood between Slade and Oliver, but I€™m sure part of it involves Slade finding out that Oliver chose Sara over Shado. Oliver also mentioned in an earlier episode that he was able to beat one of these serum-enhanced men before, which foreshadows his inevitable fight with Slade and likely ends with him shooting an arrow through Slade€™s eye. Oliver assumed Slade was dead, so I€™m curious to see not only how he survived, but how he got off the island and what happened to him afterwards. Hopefully he channeled comic book Deathstroke and went full-blown mercenary to earn those big bucks.
