Arrow: 10 Most Disappointing Episodes Ever

4. Season 4 Episode 13: Sins Of The Father

Arrow Stephen Amell Death
The CW

The death of Laurel was an extremely disappointing moment, but like all bad seasons of TV, season 4 finds a way to top itself.

Malcolm Merlyn was the main villain of Season 1. His story was concluded well, and should have been left alone. However, by inexplicable means, he was brought back in season 2. From that point on, his story becomes melodramatic, aimless, and overlong. His new story with Thea lasts for 3 seasons, and is never enjoyable. Season 4's episode, 'Sins of the Father', heavily suggested that his story would finally come to an end, and showed snippets of a final fight between Malcolm and Oliver.

Those snippets turned out to be the entire fight. Malcolm was a formidable opponent for Oliver in Season 1; but in this episode, he's beaten in less than a minute. It's a poorly acted, abysmally choreagraphed confrontation. It could be forgiven if it finally ended Malcolm's dismal storyline, but it's merely a stepping stone. This subversion of Malcolm being spared at the end makes this poor episode feel useless and superficial.
