Arrow: 10 Non-Powered Superheroes Who Should Appear

5. Wildcat

While Wildcat is skilled in many forms of martial arts, his primary fighting style is just good ol€™ fashioned boxing. Ted Grant entered the world of boxing after saving former prize fighter Mike €œSocker Smith€ Muldoon from some thugs. Impressed by Ted€™s fighting skills, Muldoon helped him become a heavyweight champion. Muldoon eventually reentered the boxing world as well, which was a fatal decision. After refusing to take a dive at the request of crime boss Victor Moretti, Muldoon was killed after Ted€™s manager Flint Fain, who had been bought by Moretti, inserted a trigger-activated poisoned needle into one of Ted€™s boxing gloves. Framed for the crime, Ted was arrested by local police. After surviving an assassination attempt by Moretti to keep him from talking (which resulted in the cops arresting Ted being killed), Ted was inspired by the Golden Age Green Lantern to become Wildcat and take down Moretti to prove his innocence. Wildcat has been an important figure of the Justice Society and is one of the few original members that has lived to the present due to supernatural intervention (pre-New 52 that is). However, like a few other characters on this list, I don€™t think it€™s necessary to have Ted Grant dress up as Wildcat. Just portray him as a seasoned boxer who meets The Arrow after being accosted by some thugs. If the show wanted to give him a personal connection to one of the characters, have him be an old mentor of Diggle€™s who taught him how to fight before joining the army. Ted would also make a great coach if Felicity, Laurel or Thea wanted to learn how to fight. With Oliver and the gang busy fighting crime, they might not have the time to do it themselves.
