9. Can Diggle Recover From This?
Sometimes, “I told you so,” just doesn’t quite cut it. Diggle screwed up real bad last episode by trusting his brother, and it got Laurel killed. He even acknowledges as much in the hospital and it’s clear that he’s already taking her death particularly hard.
It’s fairly evident that this guilt isn’t going away soon, and the question becomes whether he’s capable of continuing on as Spartan right now. He may simply not be able to cope, knowing that his egregious mistake cost the life of one of his teammates. That’s a lot to recover from and it would be understandable if Diggle needs some time away to deal with it.
He might also compartmentalize these feelings for the time being to finish off Darhk. But once the mission is over, where does he stand? Even if he stays on board, would he be the same man or is this going to change him forever?
Diggle is at a turning point, and for such a key character on the show, there’s currently no indication of where he’s headed.
