Arrow: 10 Things We Learned From The Season 4 Premiere

8. The CW DC Universe Is Expanding

Arrow's universe has always occupied a tenuous spot under DC's gaze. Generally speaking, the writers have had free reign over many lesser-tier characters and even occasionally even get to hint at some A-listers like Harley Quinn, even if they're not allowed to actually use them.

To make up for this, the show has done its best to hint at the bigger world around Oliver without having to actually show all of it. This work was in full effect in the premiere, with Kord Industries playing a huge role in the plot. Ted Kord has been mentioned before and even if he doesn't appear in person under his Blue Beetle guise, this is the exact type of thing that keeps fans pleased and helps to flesh out Oliver's world.

The real jaw-dropper happened during the Coast City flashback. Without warning, as Oliver sits with Waller at the bar, a man turns past the camera with a flight jacket visibly reading 'Jordan.' Guys, we just saw Hal Jordan on TV! That's probably the most we'll ever get of the Green Lantern but that tease was so satisfying that it's hard to stay mad.
