Arrow: 12 Greatest Plots Of The Series So Far

8. The Count Vertigo Trilogy

The trilogy of Count Vertigo episodes spanning from the middle of Season 1 to the first half of Season 2 is about as perfect summation of Oliver€™s journey as can be managed in three episodes. The Vertigo drug was personal for Oliver from the beginning thanks to Thea, and forcibly injecting the Count with his own concoction is one of the most ruthless things that he has ever done. In the second Vertigo episode, Oliver was making his way toward showing more humanity thanks to Team Arrow, and he chose to spare the Count even when he had to kill the Count€™s conspirators. Then, in the final Vertigo episode, when Oliver was fresh on his no-killing course, Oliver had to break his vow and kill the Count to save Felicity in one of his biggest hero moments of the whole series. The Count pretty much had to die anyway since he€™d learned Oliver€™s secret, but Oliver killing him showed that he knew that sometimes the greater good is paramount to his vow not to kill. Oliver has forgotten that somewhat in the years since, but the Count Vertigo trilogy is an epic set of episodes for everybody involved.

Fiction buff and writer. If it's on Netflix, it's probably in my queue. I've bought DVDs for the special features and usually claim that the book is better than the movie or show (and can provide examples). I've never met a TV show that I won't marathon. Follow on Twitter @lah9891 .
