4. John Diggle
Who He Is: John Diggle is a former soldier whose life changed forever when he was hired as Oliver Queen's bodyguard. He's since found a purpose beyond following the idle rich on their frivolities and become as much a hero on the homefront as he was overseas. He's found a dear friend in Felicity, a surrogate brother in Oliver, a family of his own with his wife and daughter, and now a mask and code name as a full-time field member of Team Arrow. Why He Can't Die: Although Team Arrow is overflowing with muscle these days, Digg is invaluable for his experience as well as for his weapons of choice, and the other non-Oliver masks of Team Arrow just do not have the presence at this point to fill the void that would exist if he were to die. Also, David Ramsey has said that John Diggle is used as the character that Oliver will become five years in the future. Digg presents a healthier template of life as a vigilante to which Oliver should aspire, and that won't work at all if he is unceremoniously killed by the end of Season 4.
