Arrow: 6 Things That "Sara" Did Right (And 3 It Didn't)

4. Archer Vs. Archer

In the season premiere, we had a Raiders of the Lost Ark-esque chase sequence and a drug-induced brawl between Oliver Queen and his alter ego. The action was big and epic and more fitting for the silver screen than a CW serial, and the question arose of what could possibly match Stephen Amell vs. Stephen Amell as the ridiculous stunt of this week. As it turns out? Dueling masked archers jousting on motorcycles. Yes, that's exactly what it sounds like. The sequence that may or may not have been developed out of a late night Mad Lib session between Arrow producers shows Oliver facing off with the archer assassin known as Komodo. They take pass after pass at each other, Komodo aiming to kill and Oliver aiming at Komodo's bike. Oliver takes an arrow to the shoulder for his non-lethal efforts, and Komodo gets away with some minor vehicular damage. It may have been fantastical and impossible and overall absurd, but it certainly brought an entertainment factor to an otherwise bleak episode. Less outlandish was the final confrontation. After crashing through a few of Starling City's most breakable windows at Queen Consolidated, the two archers face off only a few feet from one another. Komodo looses a massive black arrow at Oliver from his longbow, but Oliver deflects it with a green. Komodo then seizes the opportunity to fire straight at the face of our hero...who snatches the arrow out of the air, fits it to his own bow, and fires right back at Komodo, skewering him through the sleeve and pinning him to the wall. Despite their earlier draw, the vigilante emerges victorious over the assassin in this battle of archers. Oh, and Laurel was there too. Whatever. Dueling archers!
