Arrow Ending: 5 Spin-Offs That Could Replace It
4. Constantine
Matt Ryan's turn as demon hunter John Constantine in the character's self-titled NBC series was well-received by fans, who praised both the authenticity of his portrayal and the dark tone of the show. Unfortunately, its less-than-stellar viewing figures resulted in the network pulling the plug before Constantine truly got off the ground.
Nonetheless, fans spent a long time campaigning for another network to pick it up. Although this never actually happened, the character would find new life in the Arrowverse when, through Constantine's relationship with Oliver Queen, Ryan reprised his role on Arrow. Since then, the foul-mouthed warlock has resurrected the soul of Sara Lance and even joined the Legends full-time.
However, Arrow's demise will leave both The CW and the Arrowverse without their darkest show and, well, that thought is just too painful to bear. While The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow all benefit from their light-hearted and hopeful approaches, it would be a shame if the Arrowverse was left without a shred of the grim tone it was born with. Though it could always find that again with Batwoman, a Constantine series would also deliver on that front while introducing us to a more supernatural type of darkness.
While it's undoubtedly great to see John Constantine thrive in Legends Of Tomorrow, there are still a ton of unanswered questions from the NBC series so, with Arrow set to conclude, now may be the perfect time for The CW to resurrect it.
