Arrow: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

1. Laurel Lance

If strength of character is judged upon your ability to overcome adversity and stand tall in the process, then you won't find a stronger character than the original Laurel Lance.

The heart and soul of the story of Arrow, Laurel struggled through the death of her sister and her cheating boyfriend, only to discover that they were both alive. She then had to learn how to love again as she attempted to welcome them back into her life, only to struggle with addiction along the way. And, in spite of falling multiple times, she made it out the other side.

Her journey to becoming the Black Canary was far more interesting than when she actually donned the costume (due to an incredibly lazy attempt to write her into the sidelines), simply because it showcased that she was a hero long before any of her costumed counterparts showed their faces. She saved Oliver from death during his time on Lian Yu, she saved her father from losing himself in his own struggles with alcohol and she saved countless souls during her time at CNRI.

Strong-willed and determined to always to the right thing, Laurel was also one of the most real characters to appear on Arrow and it was through her flaws that she found her strengths - nothing else the show produced could ever compete with this.
