Arrow Season 4: 10 Huge Things Learned From San Diego Comic-Con
4. Felicity Gets A Story
Oliver isn’t the only character moving forward in his profession of choice. Development on the corporate and technological fronts is on the horizon for Emily Bett Rickards’ Felicity Smoak.
After the fiasco of her professional arc in Season 3 saw her revolving around Ray Palmer in his journey toward the ATOM suit, the transfer of Palmer Tech to Felicity indicates some focus especially on her. Rickards mentioned on more than one occasion at Comic-Con that Felicity will want more out of her life than existing as girlfriend to the hero, and the tease of a possible appearance from her mysterious father combined with her professional development promises great things for her character in Season 4.
Of course, an arc of her own does not mean that she is entirely free of the Ray Palmer plot. According to executive producer Wendy Mericle, Felicity will be instrumental in discovering that Ray managed to shrink himself in the lab accident that saw an entire floor of Palmer Tech exploding into his face. If her invaluable input in the construction of the ATOM suit is any indication, she’s more than capable of helping to resize Ray in time for the spinoff.
