Maybe we're looking at this all wrong, and the blast is as simple as it seems: everyone is caught in it, the island is totally obliterated, and everyone bar Oliver and William is now dead.

It'd be insane and near unthinkable for a show entering its sixth season to wipe out almost its entire cast, but the producers have spoken of Season 6 being a fresh start, while there is a real finality to Season 5.

Prediction: Pretty much a certain no, but just imagine how insane it'd be.
