3. Two Sides Of The Same Coin
"Everyone has good and bad inside of them and you can't put them in one box or the other. Ever."
Laurel Lance's chilling statement really is the best way to sum up this episode. The Diaz situation has changed things and, in doing so, it has changed all of the show's characters, awakening different aspects of their personality.
This has been highlighted throughout the season with two core characters. As the former villain, Earth-2 Laurel has slowly begun moving towards the light (more on that later), changing the way she approaches things to be more like the beloved Laurel Lance of Earth-1. While she was attempting to do this, the once-incorruptible Felicity Smoak began moving towards darkness, bending the rules she once treated with such respect as she was willing to do whatever it took to get the job done.
As both characters' storylines again intertwined in 'Due Process' it became clear that everything wasn't black and white and there was a grey area. Laurel and Felicity both reside in that grey area, each one exhibiting qualities that the other one needs while always being there to stop each other from venturing too far into the black or the white.
It never seemed possible before, but these two unlikely allies have become the show's dream team and both Katie Cassidy and Emily Bett Rickards bounce off each other beautifully. Who needs Team Arrow or A.R.G.U.S. when you have Overwatch and Black Siren taking care of business? Speaking of the latter...
