Arrow Season 7 Finale: What Does The Ending Really Mean?
1. Arrow Is Forever Changed
In many ways, the Season 7 finale of Arrow could have served as its series finale. Not only did it bid farewell to Felicity Smoak (and presumably Oliver Queen), it set the stage for the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover, which is expected to play a major part in Arrow's conclusion, while also changing the face of the Arrowverse forever. The only problem is that this isn't expected to take place until the end of the show's final season. So, the question is: Where exactly does that leave Season 8?
Given that the writers were using both of the season's storylines to build towards Oliver's disappearance, the fact that the finale jumped straight to that point was somewhat unexpected, as it took the final stretch of time before the Crisis away from Oliver and, as a result, has left the show's final outing without a confirmed setting.
From an a whole season focused on Crisis to an all-flash-forward season, there are countless possibilities for the show's final offering, but one thing is for sure: Arrow, as we know it, has officially come to an end.
