Arrow Season 7: What Does The Ending To ‘Lost Canary’ Really Mean?
The real Black Canary has finally arrived!
Contains spoilers from Arrow Season 7, Episode 18.
Arrow returned from its final hiatus this week as it began laying the groundwork for its season finale. That said, it also took some time to focus on its sorely under-appreciated female characters and, in doing so, gave us the Birds of Prey-inspired episode that fans had been waiting years to see.
'Lost Canary' saw Earth-2's Laurel Lance return to her villainous ways as she reunited with an old ally from her Diaz days and went on a crime spree. This forced Felicity to reach out to the sister of the original Laurel, Sara Lance, resulting in the White Canary making a return to the show were it all began for her. The two ladies then teamed up with current Black Canary, Dinah Drake, in a bid to remind Laurel of all the good that she had accomplished in the past year and ultimately save her from herself.
This would also play into this season's flash-forward narrative as future Dinah was crushed to discover that Galaxy One had decimated the network of Canaries. This act of violence forced Felicity's daughter, Mia Smoak/Blackstar, to seek revenge and led to a jaw-dropping revelation about the fate of one particular character.
