Arrow Season 8: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

7. Mia Smoak

Arrow Season 8 Oliver Queen John Diggle Laurel Lance Black Canary
The CW

Another time-traveler from the future, Oliver's daughter Mia kick-started Season 8 much like she'd spent the previous season - attempting to make the horrid future that awaited Star City in 2040 a much better place. But even then, few of us could have predicted what would happen next.

Showing up in the present at the behest of The Monitor, the perpetually moody young vigilante finally got the chance to get to know the father who sacrificed himself to save the multiverse - right before he sacrificed himself to save the multiverse. This gave way to some of the season's best storytelling as Mia finally formed the relationship with her father that she longed for - and this softer side allowed her to become a much more tolerable character.

Admittedly, there were still issues as she wouldn't listen to anyone's advice and refused to learn from her mistakes, but when she finally got there, she became a stronger character and a formidable hero - one capable of co-leading Green Arrow and The Canaries.

The Mia that we met in the backdoor pilot was much more well-balanced than the one who grunted her way through Season 7, and the possibility of seeing more of her remains one of the potential spin-off's most alluring qualities.
