3. Canary Cry

While we can certainly appreciate the fact that Arrow is allowing its primary Black Canary, Laurel Lance, to show how formidable she is in hand-to-hand combat (something it has failed to do in the past), the refusal to allow her to use her Canary Cry this season is getting beyond a joke.

Though we've heard the Cry used multiple times through the season, we've only seen her use it once. This suggests that the powers-that-be are saving the budget for the Crisis which, when you think about it, is quite understandable. However, they got away with it until now.

Out in the open of Lian Yu, there were no doors or walls to conceal the visual effect behind and, thus, they just outright decided not to have her use it. And that would have been fine if the team was actually winning the battle... but they weren't.

You know what would temporarily take down an army of relentless undead soldiers? A sonic scream. But hey, let's have Mia shoot an explosive arrow instead, right? That makes total sense.
