Avatar The Last Airbender: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best
4. Katara
When it comes to debating who is the show's central pillar, there is an argument in favour of Aang or Katara.
Although it genuinely is Aang's story, Katara is the emotional centre of the show and acts as the audiences eye into the world through her narration and sensibilities. This helps to make her one of the strongest characters in the series.
The Water-Bender has a tonne of depth to her, as she is consistently shown to be one of the more believable characters in the show. She is caring, sweet and thoughtful, but also prone to fits of rage, confusion and pettiness. All of this rolls together to make her incredibly honest and utterly real as a character since her flaws and issues ground what would otherwise be an overly pretentious personality.
Katara also has plenty of moments of comedy and has proven herself to be an excellent warrior. Altogether she displays every trait that the show does well: Action, comedy, drama and fantasy. Thanks to this she is easily one of the best characters.
