Batman Beyond: 10 Best Villains

4. The Royal Flush Gang

Of course, you can't make a sequel series to Batman: The Animated Series and the DCAU as a whole without addressing where the old rogues galleries are. And while the fates of mister Freeze and Bane are tragic, and the fate of Harley Quinn is hilariously perfect, the most interesting belongs to the Royal Flush Gang.

The Royal Flush Gang is a family operated group of master criminals who all base themselves around playing cards because why not. The members in Batman Beyond include King, Queen, Ace, Jack, and Ten. What made them so interesting was the internal politics of the group, with King having married into the family, while Queen is technically the rightful heir. And boy does it not take long to tell that she is super salty that the group's motif all but ensures she'll never be on top. Ace is the group's android bruiser, while Jack - despite being the flattest character of the bunch - is clearly the one most interested in actually staying on task and keeping the family on the same page.

Finally, the youngest member, Ten, quickly bails because it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the gang's days are numbered, and that number is in the single digits. They just have this interesting dynamic for characters who only appear in two episodes. A gang whose glory days are behind them, and are trying to hang on against the winds of change.
