Battlestar Galactica: Every Starbuck Episode Ranked Worst To Best

7. Valley Of Darkness

Though this episode does not feature much of Starbuck, it does feature a key scene in explaining her drive and her character. After she has managed to secure the Arrow of Apollo, after a brutal and bloody fight with a Number Six model, she and Helo travel to her old apartment in Caprica City.

There, they take a breather. They are far from safety and they know that they can't remain in one place, but they allow themselves a moment of respite. There, Helo takes to the kitchen to discover what he can in terms of provisions and Starbuck rests on the couch - after donning her old leather jacket.

As Helo stands in the kitchen, he hears music begin to float through the apartment. Stunned, he returns to find that Starbuck is playing an old cassette of her Dad playing the piano.

He sits with her and she tells him about her drive.

Most people are fighting to get back what they've lost. I'm fighting because I don't know how to do anything else.

And all the while, behind them both, her Mandala is on the wall.
