Batwoman: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

The way in which an actor tackles a villainous role can often result in a career-defining performance. We've seen it with greats like Heath Ledger, Vincent D'Onofrio and the Arrowverse's own Tom Cavanagh. At this point, it goes without saying that Batwoman's Rachel Skarsten has added her name to that list.

Unquestionably the very best thing about Batwoman, Skarsten's performance was nothing short of magnificent as she brought the unhinged, emotionally conflicted and at times downright chilling Alice to life.

Of course, it helps that she had great material to work with. We mentioned some of the show's shortcomings earlier on, but not a single one of them had to do with Alice. A character so well defined, the creative team did a fantastic job of making this psychopath strangely endearing to us pretty early on, gifting what could have been a one-dimensional wacko with a rich conflict, unusually understandable goal and excellently fleshed-out backstory.

Alice wasn't just a great villain; she was a great character and, by far the best to grace the Arrowverse in a very long time. For that reason, viewers were gripped every single time she was on-screen as she took them through the looking glass with ease.
