Batwoman: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
2. Kate Kane/Batwoman
Kate Kane proved to be a formidable hero right from the offset during her appearance in Elseworlds, but there was a concern that Ruby Rose's moody protagonist may not be deep enough to carry a show of her own. Batwoman put those concerns to bed very early on.
Hardened by the trauma of losing her sister during her childhood, Kate is fully aware of her scars and she wears them like a badge of honour - something that aids her well in her vigilantism. That also lends itself nicely to her development throughout the season as her journey to becoming the Dark Knight leads her further into the light, paving the way for some real nice character development.
She's a fighter and she'll certainly have no problem telling you that, but she's an inspirational one who finds a way to deal with her own trauma by helping others. And just like Batman was, she's the hero that Gotham needs and the one it deserves.
Ruby Rose overcame the criticism to deliver an empowering performance and whoever ultimately replaces her is going to have a hard time filling her red and black boots.
