Batwoman Season 1: 3 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Who Are You?'

1. The Truth Is Out... AGAIN

One thing Batwoman can't be faulted in is its ability to continually subvert our expectations. Sure, it may have fallen victim to the short-lived romance tropes this week, but since it began, it hasn't held back when it comes to raising the stakes in the most unexpected of ways.

First, we learned that Alice may be Beth, next Kate immediately told her father about it and then they all began behaving like she actually was Beth. However, little did they know that Catherine Hamilton-Kane may have had something to do with the family's decade-long belief that Beth was dead.

'Who Are You?' not only confirmed that Catherine did have something to do with, it gave Alice the chance to confront her over it and even saw Miss Hamilton-Kane reveal all to her husband.

This whole revealing things incredibly soon is one thing that is continually working in Batwoman's favour. Instead of dancing around plot points for weeks, the show has no problem jumping straight into them and, so far, it's paid off. Provided it can continue to pull the rug out from under us as it goes on, it's safe to say that fans have no problem being surprised like this on a weekly basis.

Bold moves, yes, but ones that consistently brilliant. Let's hope it keeps it up.
