The proper court-room episode, Aaron Sorkin and Sidney Lumet would be proud.
All the time we have seen Better Call Saul many wondered when we'd get a pure legal drama episode that never left the court, and when it arrived it was superb.
The episode was the smackdown we'd been waiting for, the Foreman against Ali of the Bad universe. It was Jimmy vs. Chuck, brother against brother, one of the greatest legal minds in the country against his swindler brother.
You know what? The swindler won, he emerged victorious against all the odds and showed everybody what he was really able to do in front of the judge. It was all about dialogue, all about perspectives and when it came down to it, Jimmy used every tactic he knew to break Chuck and break he did.
Chuck was made to look insane, whilst Jimmy the victim of a bullying, narcissistic older brother that was all about keeping Jimmy down at all costs. Other episodes of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul may have had more action but this one had more intricate brutality woven into the seams of the single-location than most shows will ever achieve.
