Better Call Saul: 10 Best Episodes So Far
3. Winner
The episode that truly revealed that Jimmy wasn't coming back, he was gone for good and another man had walked away in his shoes.
When Jimmy's law license is up to be reinstated after a year of being suspended, the whole case goes a bit awry as he shows no remorse for Chuck's death and tells the committee that he is ready to go back to work. It is only when Kim points this out to him that he uses Chuck's death to illustrate to them just how terrible he feels about what has happened to his family, and how much he does indeed miss Chuck.
Appeased by his emotional outpouring of grief, the committee have his license is reinstated and as Kim moves to make sure he is okay. Then he turns and reveals that it was all an act to get his license back. She is left stunned and Jimmy, as we knew him, was gone, all that was left was Saul Goodman.
Whilst Mike is trying to locate Werner, Gus realises that Lalo now knows too much about what he is building and tells Mike that he'll have a man kill him. Mike tells Fring he'll do it himself and allows Werner to go without fear. It further cemented Mike and Fring's relationship, as well as Lalo's suspicions of Fring.
As a pay-off to four seasons of slow-building story, Jimmy's last moments were great to see as Saul took charge.
