Better Call Saul: 10 Breaking Bad Easter Eggs You Totally Missed

3. Mike's Love For Pimento

Whilst the show might be called 'Better Call Saul', Mike Ehrmantraut sure does stand out in the series as being one of the most brutally efficient men in the world. Arguably his best moment in the opening couple of seasons comes when he answers a posting for a protection job and casually arrives to the meeting spot without a gun. He is ridiculed by a familiar-sounding baddie but reaffirms his badass qualifications by KO'ing him without so much of a grimace of struggle.

Mike might not be packing firepower, but he is packing something much helpful for a long car journey: his lunch.

As the very name of the episode suggests, Mike's packed himself a pimento sandwich for the journey. Breaking Bad fans might have picked out the fact that, six years on when the show is set, this is still the sandwich of choice for this calm and collected hitman.

Having drawn the attention of Gus Fring, Jesse is placed with Mike for a series of stakeouts. Sensing his new partner's fears of such a mission being boring (perish the thought that a stakeout with Jonathan Banks could ever be considered anything less than brilliant), Mike is on hand to let Jesse know that he has come prepared and packed them some sandwiches containing the 'caviar of the south'.
