Based on those same trailers, a lot of the first season's arc will focus specifically on Saul's (or Jimmy's) relationship with his older brother. A brother who got nary a mention throughout Breaking Bad, so don't expect him to stick around as a permanent cast member. Which would be kind of a shame, since the actor playing Chuck McGill is Spinal Tap's Michael McKean, which is pretty cool. The driving plot of Better Call Saul's initial run will involve Chuck's dismissal from his own law firm due to the sudden acquisition of a serious mental illness. From the looks of it as much of the episodes are going to be about Saul trying to get his brother his job back, or suing his old job, as much as accepting the illness. We'll beat this!, Jimmy/Saul says in those trailers, which is kind of a misunderstanding of how mental illnesses work. Either way, it's a twist on the driving force of Breaking Bad being Walter White's cancer diagnosis. Will a different form of illness put Saul on his own path of self destruction? Quite probably!
