The Big Bang Theory: 12 Recurring Things That Need To Die

5. The Room-Mate Agreement

The room-mate agreement was funny. It has been the source of many jokes, has been chucked out and re-drafted and was completely re-written post Priya to greatly benefit Sheldon. It has become a pretty stale joke though. The idea that you would do all these things for your room-mate just because you signed some overly complicated contract is just a little too daft. We all remember when Leonard told Sheldon to shove his room-mate agreement and went to a bare bones friendship of saying €œsup€ in the corridor. This episode should have been the last time we ever hear mention of it. There have even been a few examples of specifics of said agreement being broken yet completely ignored. It had its uses, we€™ve had our fun with it but it€™s time to put it to bed. It was supposed to be a running joke like Starfleet or SpaceCorps regulations being quoted all the time but ironically it was used too infrequently for that to work. In short, it€™s just not funny anymore. Best thing to do is give it a decent burial and move on.
