Big Finish Just Altered Doctor Who's Biggest Moment!

7. The Warrior

Doctor who Big Finish
BBC

After committing the act of destroying the incubation chamber, and the consequences of that, the Doctor is brought back to Gallifrey. But is he still the Doctor?

Having also being shot by the prototype Dalek, the Fourth Doctor starts regenerating, being prompted by an Elixir made by the now wiped out Sisterhood of Karn, similar to the events of the Night of the Doctor. As a result the Doctor's life is changed...

With this regeneration, the next incarnation emerges (portrayed by Colin Baker), an incarnation who is no longer the Doctor, but now the Warrior. This new incarnation is determined to finish his mission and wipe out the Daleks. In simple terms, this basically creates a Doctor if the War Doctor incarnation came earlier, and the Time War is a direct ripple effect of this moment.

Sometimes, it's arguably frustrating that the moral scruples of the Doctor get in the way of them doing what is maybe best for the universe. Moments where this has happened include the Sontaran Atmos Invasion, countless times fighting the Master and the aforementioned Genesis. But imagine the outcome had he not held back?

Should the Whoniverse be a safer place, at the cost of the Doctor not holding back?

Forgetting your feelings towards this original period of the show, if you breakdown each incarnation, if there was ever to be an alternate War Doctor, the Sixth Doctor definitely tops that list.

But this isn't the only version of the 'Doctor' in this series...
