Bob's Burgers: Every Halloween Episode Ranked Worst To Best
7. Heartbreak Hotel-oween (Season 11, Episode 4)
"Heartbreak Hotel-oween" is the second of Bob's Burgers' Halloween episodes to deliver more on its B-story than its A-story. Bob tries to donate blood at a vampire-themed donation van, where he's identified as a "needle weenie" and must fight off squeamishness to provide O-negative "hero blood" to those in need.
If that sounds like a pretty routine story with a few predictable jokes along the way, that's because it is. Yet it's still more entertaining than the kids' adventure, which is a shame for multiple reasons.
At the beginning of the episode, Louise details a revenge plot against a house that stiffed her on candy two years in a row. This leads to some great sight gags as we get to see the kids' costumes in previous years, allowing viewers to pause and play an impromptu guessing game to figure out the pun behind each outfit.
Unfortunately, this potentially fun plot never plays out. The gang meets an old lady who despises her dead husband, and Tina sets out to investigate the circumstances of his death. In the end, Louise learns a predictable lesson about resentment that she could have learned just as easily if the story had actually delivered what it promised at the beginning.
