Bodyguard Finale: 5 Theories You Need To Know
2. The Prime Minister And The Secret Service
With Julia clearly gunning for his job the Prime Minister is also another likely suspect in the entire plot but it may go a little deeper than just keeping his seat of power since it seems like Julia has got some scandalous dirt on him.
Richard Longcross gave her a secure tablet with a dossier on it discussing the heinous antics of someone clearly in power. Cocaine addiction, domestic abuse and tax evasion were all mentioned within the file and it's implied that it's the Prime Minister. But it seems like Julia and the Secret Service were originally working together since she would be pushing the RIPA charter that would give them more power. She then made them the initial lead on the terrorism investigation so they would give her all the juicy gossip on the Prime Minister that she could use in her leadership attempt.
But she clearly overstepped the mark by heading to Chequers at midnight and most likely blackmailing the Prime Minister with the information. When the Secret Service found out about this meeting Richard Longcross discussed putting a plan in place. Shortly after Julia Montague was caught in the explosion at St Matthews. Coincidence?
Clearly Richard Longcross is a villainous snake so killing her would quash his problems and any potential fallout from the dossier dies with her. Plus, it seems unlikely that the Prime Minister would complain about a political rival being bumped off.
