BoJack Horseman: 10 Greatest Diane Episodes
8. Hank After Dark (S2E7)
Diane Nguyen was never scared of telling things like they were. It almost got her fired by BoJack when she released ‘One Trick Pony’, she gave Mr. Peanutbutter hell after he threw her a surprise party, and she even managed to earn herself a barrage of death threats from total strangers.
This last one came from when she decided to take on the great Hank Hippopopalous. He was the biggest name in network TV, but when she was touring and promoting her book, she inadvertently started a war that just would not die.
‘Uncle Hanky’ left a string of eight assistants behind that all accused him of the same thing, but he always got away with it because of who he was. Diane however, even though she didn’t want to, simply had to fight against it. In her eyes, someone had to stand up for those eight women, and even though she didn't want it to, it fell to her. She couldn't just let it slip.
Never before, or arguably since, was her relentless need for social justice and to do the right thing on show. Even in the face of death threats, abuse in the streets, and pleas to stop from her husband, Diane couldn’t help but fight such misogyny.
