BoJack Horseman: 10 Greatest Diane Episodes
7. Feel-Good Story (S6E3)
While out on the road being the face of Girl Croosh, Diane went through a lot. She wound up battling the Whitewhale Corporation, a heartless conglomerate putting a stranglehold around smaller businesses, with a CEO that murdered an employee because he took too many bathroom breaks.
She did this with Guy by her side. Originally just her cameraman, they grew close. So close that he asked her to stay in Chicago with her rather than go back to L.A. However, in typical Diane fashion, she found an excuse to get away from the one thing that may actually make her happy.
She told Guy he couldn’t be in her life if he was the only good thing, as it was just too much pressure. This kind of self-sabotage and unquestioned acceptance of her own unhappiness is why she had never truly been happy, but here she eventually decided to make an actual positive change in her life.
Upon returning to L.A, she found a bunch of letters from BoJack at rehab that inspired her. She would always struggle to be happy, as that isn’t something that is easily fixed by anything, but she actively took a positive step forward by calling Guy, and telling him she wanted to move to Chicago.
