BoJack Horseman: 10 Greatest Todd Episodes
7. Yes And (S2E10)
For a long time, Todd Chavez and BoJack Horseman weren’t just best friends, they were really the only friends each other had. The relationship ultimately crumbled, and though it could be said that this started with the sabotage of Todd’s rock opera, it was actually his dabble with improv.
Todd may have been disillusioned by a cult masquerading as an improv class, and BoJack and Diane may have tried to tell him so, but this was something that was important to Todd, and that he was good at. It was something that he actually cared about.
Like his rock opera, Todd wanted to share his improv with BoJack, and so asked him to come to his graduation ceremony. He even reserved two seats for his friend, but at the end of the night, neither was filled. Todd knew BoJack wasn’t a good person, but this one hurt him more than anything else.
Todd’s improv escapades in this episode were actually really funny, as he cluelessly became brilliant at what he was doing, but the episode, like many in the BoJack Horseman catalogue, ended on an emotional gut punch. These always seem worse when Todd is involved, as he is just too innocent to deserve to be hurt.
