BoJack Horseman: 10 Greatest Todd Episodes
6. The Kidney Stays In The Picture (S6E6)
For as long as BoJack has known him, Todd has been a young man either sleeping on his own, Mr. Peanutbutter, or Princess Carolyn’s couch. It wasn’t until season six however, that there is a true insight shown into the relationship he has with his parents.
Todd’s step-dad, Jorge, came to him asking for a kidney donation to help his comatose mother. This could have been relatively straight forward had Todd not already sold his kidney to buy sock puppets for Ruthie, so the two went on an adventure to Chicago to get it back.
This was another wacky, zany adventure for Todd, but there were a lot of things he needed to work through with his parents. They hadn’t even called him in ten years, and if it was up to his own mother, she never would have again.
Todd and Jorge argued throughout the entire episode over the younger Chavez letting his step-dad down and never living up to the name he was given, but Todd argued that he wasn’t a failure and that he was happy. He stood up for himself to someone who kicked him out of the house when he was just a kid, and it only makes you feel for Todd, and love him even more than before.
