When watching Breaking Bad, many people pondered the question, "if this fast-food chain is called Los Pollos Hermanos, then where's the second hermano?". Well, thankfully, that's something that was on Vince Gilligan's mind too, as he finally cleared the air, and boy howdy, was it a deadly reveal.
The episode "Hermanos" gave a frighteningly enlightening look into Gus Fring's past. It showed a flashback to when Gus and his partner Max attempted to get into business with The Cartel. However, things didn't go to plan, as everyone's favourite bell enthusiast Hector Salamanca shot Max in the head, effectively parting the Pollos Hermanos forever.
This moment would become the basis for Gus and Hector's rivalry and brought some phenomenal depth to both characters. Plus, while Max wasn't around for very long, he still made a solid impression thanks to his skills and knowledge in chemistry. In another lifetime, he could have been the real Heisenberg.
