Breaking Bad: 10 Best Musical Moments

10. Walt Torches A Car - Darondo, 'Didn't I'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy65f55DPIM Breaking Bad is possibly as good as it is because it gives such fabulous payoffs; even in the first season, pre-Heisenberg, and still morally strong, Walt meets an obnoxious businessman and decides to take him down a few pegs. 1973 hit 'Didn't I', by San Francisco funkster Darondo is the perfect song for this scene. It's effortlessly cool, breezily carefree, and it feels triumphant; it's a song that you'd listen to at the end of a long day, feet up, with a chilled drink. It's quite a contrast too of the fairly badass act to actually destroy this man's car supplemented with a soul ballad gives the scene more of a smirk than a scowl. It's not intended to be a step towards amorality for Walt; it's just justice. The song's also been featured in The Blacklist and the US version of Life On Mars; it's an extremely underrated piece of music, and one that's no doubt earned fans a-plenty with its appearance in this episode.
