2. Aaron Paul
Wow, is all I can say about Aaron Paul. Where the hell did this talented little son of a bitch come from?! You know, I said the same thing about Ben Foster a few years back, and in a strange way, Aaron Paul reminds me of him. Can you believe that Vince Gilligan had originally intended to kill Jessie Pinkman off in the first season, leaving Walt alone and twisting in the wind in a world of crime he knew nothing about. Undoubtedly, the reason they didnt is a) because he tested well with audiences, and really, a smart creative listens to his audience and b) Aaron Paul took that character, ran with him, and blew minds in the process. Lest we forget the scene in season 4, in which Jessie confronts his Narcotics Anonymous counsellor with the bitter truth of why he joined the group, and half confesses to killing Gale Boetticher in a story about murdering a dog. Its an incredible scene that relied entirely on Aaron Pauls ability as a performer. Make no mistake, Ill be watching Aaron Pauls career with interest after Breaking Bad, and if youve got any interesting in fantastic, rising actors, you will be too.
