3. Sherlock
When you put Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in the same show you are always going to get something special. This version of Sherlock Holmes is set in modern day London and has had 2 series with three ninety minute episodes in each. We all know about Sherlock Holmes already, but this is a fine adaptation Cumberbatch puts in a marvellous display as the lead, augmented by the excellent Freeman in a show lives and dies on its cast chemistry. Their double-act takes the show to a new level, and has deservedly helped make Hollywood stars of the pair. With a third series filming completed we won't have to wait much longer to find the answer to the stunning cliff-hanger at the end of series two. Frankly, I can't wait.
