Breaking Bad: 10 Worst Things Walter White Has Ever Done

8. That Phone Call To Hank

Of all the people affected directly by the actions of Walter White, Hank may have pulled the shortest straw of all. As a DEA agent already on the hunt for Heisenberg, Walt's brother-in-law was closer to this than anyone else in the family, and was automatically in the most danger from the start.

Though Hank at this point had no clue of Walt's involvement in the drug empire he was investigating, he had had his suspicions about Jesse Pinkman for some time. After following the man formerly known as Cap'n Cook out into the desert to see Walt in the RV, Hank had them cornered.

Walt and Jesse were stuck inside their mobile meth lab full of evidence with Hank the other side of the only exit, just inches away from discovering Heisenberg's true identity. However, desperate times call for desperate measures, and for the two cooks, this was the most desperate time of all.

Through Saul and his receptionist, Walt arranged a phone call to Hank telling him that Marie had been seriously injured in a car accident. Naturally, though reluctantly, Hank fled the scene to be by his wife's side before realising it was a hoax call. This kind of disregard for the emotional stability of his family is shocking from a man who claims to be doing everything he is doing for the good of those he loves.

This resulted in Jesse receiving possibly the most savage beating of his life.
