7. He Got In A Car Accident On Purpose
As Walt fell deeper and deeper into the crystal meth business, he dragged Hank down with him, and the phone call about Marie's fake emergency was just the beginning.
After unknowingly saving Jesse and Walt from Tuco, Hank crossed paths with the latter's cousins, and though he survived the encounter, it left him hurt and having to fight for the use of his legs again. Since he couldn't drive, he brought Walt in on his investigation of Gus Fring and Los Pollos Hermanos as his driver.
On one of their regular journeys to the fried chicken restaurant, Hank asked Walt to make a turn and head towards a laundry factory Fring was associated with - the same laundry factory that housed Walt's lab. Since they were already in the car, Walt found himself again just minutes away from Hank potentially uncovering his secret. There was no way of getting out of taking a DEA agent to his meth lab, save one.
To avoid reaching the his workspace with Hank in the car, Walt deliberately swerved across the road into another car going at full speed, completely disregarding the safety of himself, Hank, and any of the innocent people unlucky enough to be inside the other car at the time, all of whom could have been seriously injured or killed.
