3. He Paid Jack To Murder Ten Men
After Gus was killed and the Los Pollos Hermanos empire collapsed, Walt, Jesse, and Mike went into business together. There were, however, loose threads left over from the previous administration. Mike still owed 'hazard pay' to several of the men he worked with under Gus - money to buy their continued silence.
As is in Heisenberg's nature, he didn't like that their pay came out of the money that he earned. Yet, as Mike insisted the money needed to be paid in order to protect their current business, the two were at an impasse. Almost as soon as Mike was out of the picture however, Walt was free to deal with the problem on his own terms.
He approached this in typical Heisenberg fashion, working on the theory that these men couldn't talk about things they weren't supposed to if they were dead. With all ten men in custody at the time, these hits had to be taken out simultaneously to stop the authorities clocking on to what was happening.
Walter White paid for the murder of ten men in two minutes, and came out the other side with not a scratch on his conscience.
